FAQ

What is Pedestal?
Pedestal is a direct-to-consumer music platform that lets artists sell immersive album experiences directly to fans—featuring a 4-track stem player, episodic video playback, in-album social media, liner notes, and more.

How is Pedestal different from Spotify or Apple Music?
Streaming platforms are built for convenience. Pedestal is built for experience. We don’t just stream music—we deliver full, artist-curated projects that fans can own, explore, and engage with.

Do I need a subscription to use Pedestal?
No subscription is required to browse or purchase.

How do I buy an album?

How does the stem player work?
Each album can include up to four isolated audio tracks (vocals, drums, melody and bass.). You can solo or mute them to experience the music in new ways.

What is “in-album social”?
It’s a social layer inside the album. Fans can comment, react, and engage with specific moments of the project—kind of like Instagram, but built around music releases.

Can I watch videos in the app?
Yes! Some albums come with exclusive episodic videos, visual albums, or behind-the-scenes content you can watch directly within the app.

What are liner notes?
Wow, I feel old… Liner notes are these cool booklets that used to come with albums during what we here at Pedestal call “The Golden Age”.  Liner notes featured, credits, lyrics, posters, photos, and more! It was a way for artists to connect with thier fans. Yes! Pedestal has this capability for artists who wish to utilize it.
